The base joint of my left index finger, where the skin creases, developed a serious problem. A row of four growths were emerging from the skin. They looked like miniature shrimp tails, sticking out half a centimeter or more. Most disturbing was the feeling that these growths were alive. I later became aware that these were the larva or egg stage of ants, soon to hatch and emerge from my skin, feeding off of me like a parasite for the time being. Trying to pull on these felt too weird and dangerous because they were too deply embedded into connective tissue. I found myself walking around the old Media Play store where I used to work as a teenager. I spotted Carlucci working at one of the kiosks and tried to show him this biological outrage on my finger. I was getting desperate for help. Later the ants ended up hatching, which I did not notice until they were crawling all over me. One may have remained unhatched.
